MAKING MOOVIES sold for €410,000

Among the last lots to go through the ring at Saint-Cloud today was MAKING MOOVIES, that was knocked down for €410,000. Runner-up in the Prix Thomas Bryon and Prix La Rochette (Gr.2s) as a juvenile, the Didier Guillemin trained colt was also placed in the Prix de Fontainebleau (Gr.3) this season. Bidding on behalf of Haif Stable, Jean-Pierre de Gasté (ITC) had the final say for the son of Dabirsim out of Group 2 winner GRACE LADY that has already produced Group performers ALHADAB and EPIC HERO.

€575,000 for the Wild Card ROCCHIGIANI

Bidding on the telephone, agent Sam Wright went to €575,000 for the Wild Card ROCCHIGIANI. The winner of the Thoroughbred Stakes (Gr.3) at Goodwood and runner-up in the German 2000 Guineas (Gr.2) this season, the Peter Schiergen trained colt also won the ZukunftsRennen (Gr.3) as a juvenile. The three-year-old son of Time Test out of Listed winner RONJA has a rating of 50 (110) and is a half-brother to Listed scorer and Group placed ROSS. He will now continue his career in Hong Kong.

DILAWAR goes to Bahrein

Assistant to agent Oliver St Lawrence, Arthur Dobell went to €500,000 for DILAWAR, another representative of the Aga Khan Studs trained by Francis-Henri Graffard. Runner-up in the Prix Bertrand du Breuil (Gr.3) and Prix du Muguet (Gr.2) this season, the son of the excellent Dubawi with a rating of 50,5 (111) won the Prix Quincey (Gr.3) last year.

We’ve bought him for a client of Fawzi Naas, who will be train him in Bahrein, said Arthur Dobell. He comes from a great place. We’re delighted!

ARINA sold for €380,000 to Michel Zérolo

Michel Zérolo (Oceanic Bloodstock) went to €380,000 for the Sparkasse Holstein Cup (Gr.3) scorer ARINA offered from Ronald Rauscher. With a current rating of 99, the daughter of Soldier Hollow is out of a half-sister by Oasis Dream out of Listed winner ANGEL DRAGON and hails from dual Group 1 A RAVING BEAUTY.

SOUZAK goes Stateside

Winner of the Haras de Bouquetot – Critérium ARQANA this afternoon at ParisLongchamp following on from two consecutive wins at Deauville and Lyon, SOUZAK was the subject of a lot of interest from buyers accross the ring. Nicolas de Watrigant (Mandore International Agency) went to €400,000 for the two-year-old son of Kodiac with a current rating of 98. Offered as a Wild Card by his trainer Jérôme Reynier, the colt is from the family of the excellent STACELITA.

He will join the boxes of Graham Motion in the United States and I’ve bought him for one of his clients, said the agent. He’s a colt that we like a lot, and his performance this afternoon underlines that. We’re very happy.

 

 

LOT 21
Aga Khan Studs’ ROZGAR sold for €800,000

A winner of the Prix Marchand d'Or (L) this season, the Aga Khan Studs' homebred ROZGAR was subject to a lot of interest around the ring. The gavel finally fell at €800,000 in favour of the very active Jean-Pierre de Gaste (ITC), bidding on behalf of Haif Stable.

Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, the son of Exceed and Excel with a rating of 109 is from the excellent maternal line of ROSANARA.

German Classic-placed SCHWARZER PETER knocked down for €1 million

Organised during the prestigious Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend, the Arc Sale took place following the day’s racing. Runner-up in the Deutsches Derby (Gr.1) and eagerly awaited around the ring, the Markus Klug trained SCHWARZER PETER was subject to a long bidding war between Alban de Mieulle and Jean-Pierre de Gasté (ITC), with the latter having the final say at €1 million on behalf of Haif Stable. With a current rating 50,5 (111), the son of Neatico out of the black-type SOVALLA also took the runner-up spot in a Group 3 at the beginning of the season and most recently finished third in the Preis der Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (Gr.3) at Baden-Baden.

A few moments earlier, and again on behalf of Haif Stable, he also had the final say at €480,000 for MASTER GATSBY. A winner of Prix Gerald De Geoffre - Prix de Lutèce (Gr.3) at ParisLongchamp last month, the son of The Gray Gatsby out of Prix des Réservoirs (Gr.3) scorer MOONEE VALLEY was also placed in the Grand Prix de Clairefontaine (L.) this season.
